Knowledge base & FAQ

Everything you need to know about our hosting, domains, billing and support. Still stuck? We are online 24/7.

Getting started

How long does it take to set up my hosting account?
Hosting accounts are provisioned automatically the moment your payment is confirmed - usually in under 60 seconds. Your welcome email contains the cPanel login details, nameservers and a link to your client area.
Do you offer a free trial or a money back guarantee?
Yes. Every shared, WordPress and reseller hosting plan includes a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not happy for any reason, open a billing ticket within 30 days and we will refund the hosting fees in full.

Billing

What currency are your prices in, and are taxes included?
All prices are shown in Nepalese Rupees (NPR) and are billed per period. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply. Your invoice always shows the exact total before you pay.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by credit or debit card, PayPal, or bank transfer. Invoices, upgrades, downgrades and cancellations are all handled from your secure client area, and you can enable automatic payments so a service never lapses unexpectedly.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your client area. Upgrades are applied instantly and we prorate the difference, so you only pay for what you use. Your files, databases, mailboxes and settings all move with you.

Domains & SSL

Is a free domain name really included?
A free domain registration for the first year is included with the Business, Pro, WP Business, WP Pro, Reseller Business and Reseller Pro plans when you choose an annual billing cycle. Renewal is charged at the standard rate shown on our domain pricing page.
How do the free SSL certificates work?
Every domain you host is issued an unlimited free AutoSSL certificate that renews automatically. You can force HTTPS for the whole site with one toggle in cPanel, and we will redirect all traffic for you.

cPanel

How do I log in to cPanel?
Open your client area, go to Services, choose your hosting package and click "Login to cPanel" - that signs you in without a second password. You can also use the direct cPanel URL and username from your welcome email, at https://yourdomain.com:2083. Forgotten the password? Reset it from the client area or ask support.
How do I create an email account in cPanel?
In cPanel open the Email section and click Email Accounts, then Create. Choose the address, set a password and a mailbox quota, and click Create. New accounts are ready within a minute. For mail clients use mail.yourdomain.com with IMAP on port 993 (SSL) and SMTP on port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS).
How do I install WordPress with Softaculous?
In cPanel open the Software section and click Softaculous Apps Installer, then choose WordPress and Install. Pick the domain, leave the directory blank for the site root, set an admin username and password, and click Install. The whole process takes about a minute and the same screen installs Joomla, Drupal, Magento, Laravel and 400+ other apps.
How do I upload my website files?
Two ways. 1) cPanel File Manager: open Files then File Manager, enter public_html, click Upload, and extract any zip you upload. 2) FTP or SFTP: create an FTP account in cPanel, then connect with FileZilla to ftp.yourdomain.com on port 21, or SFTP to yourdomain.com on port 22 with your cPanel username. Your website files always go inside public_html.
How do I create a MySQL database and user?
In cPanel open the Databases section and click MySQL Databases. Create the database, create a user with a strong password, then use "Add User To Database" and grant ALL PRIVILEGES. cPanel prefixes both names with your account name, so a database called shop becomes accountname_shop. Manage the contents any time with phpMyAdmin, and import a dump with the Import tab.
How do I enable HTTPS and force SSL on my site?
Open your client area and confirm AutoSSL has issued a certificate for the domain (cPanel shows this under Security then SSL/TLS Status). Once the certificate is active, turn on Force HTTPS Redirect under Domains, or add the redirect rule in .htaccess. Mixed content warnings are almost always a hardcoded http:// link in your theme - send us a ticket and we will find it for free.
How do I restore a backup?
Open cPanel, go to Files then Backup (or JetBackup, depending on the server), and pick the restore point you want. Our shared plans keep 30 days of daily backups, and you can restore a single file, a database or the full account yourself without opening a ticket. This is a courtesy service, so please also keep your own copy of anything critical.
Where do I change the PHP version for my website?
In cPanel open Software then Select PHP Version. Pick the version from the dropdown - we recommend PHP 8.1, 8.2 or 8.3 for WordPress and most modern applications. The same screen lets you enable or disable extensions such as gd, intl, imagick or opcache. The change applies within seconds and does not affect other domains on the account.
How do I point my domain name to Fonhost?
Two options. 1) Nameservers: set the nameservers at your registrar to the ones in your welcome email, and we manage all DNS for you. 2) Keep your current DNS and create an A record pointing to the server IP address shown in your client area, plus a CNAME for www. DNS changes usually take effect within an hour but can take up to 24 hours worldwide.

Migration

Can you move my existing websites for free?
Yes. Send us your cPanel, FTP or WordPress admin details and our migration team will move your files, databases, email accounts and DNS records at no cost, with zero downtime. Most migrations finish within one business day.

Technical

Do you support PHP, MySQL and other technologies?
Our cPanel plans support PHP 8.1 to 8.3 with a per-domain version selector, MySQL 8 and MariaDB, cron jobs, SSH and SFTP access, Git, and 400+ one-click applications. Node.js and Python applications can be run from the command line or through the application manager included with cPanel.
Where are your servers located?
Our servers sit in modern datacenters with redundant power, cooling and multi-homed network transit. The exact location for your account is shown during checkout, and you can ask support for the current list of regions before you order.

Support

What is your uptime guarantee?
We guarantee 99.9% network and power uptime, measured monthly. If we miss that target you automatically receive service credits on your account - see our Service Level Agreement for the full credit schedule.

Reseller

Do you offer reseller hosting?
Yes. Our reseller plans give you WHM access so you can create, suspend and manage your own cPanel accounts, define your own packages and quotas, and bill your clients however you like. You get the same NVMe storage, LiteSpeed servers, free SSL and daily backups as our own plans, and our support covers the reseller account itself as well as anything you need help with.
Can I use my own nameservers and branding for my clients?
Yes. Reseller accounts can register private nameservers such as ns1.yourbrand.com, so your clients never see our name in the control panel or in DNS. You can brand the client area with your own logo and company name, and we stay invisible in the background. We are happy to help you set the private nameservers up.
How many client accounts can I create?
Each reseller plan lists the number of cPanel accounts it allows: 25 on Reseller Starter, 60 on Reseller Business and 150 on Reseller Pro. Overselling is enabled, so you can distribute those accounts across your own quotas as tightly as you like. If you outgrow a plan, upgrade in one click and your existing client accounts are untouched.
