Cookie Policy
Every cookie we set, what it does, and how to change your choice.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Similar technologies include local and session storage and pixels. They let a site remember you between page loads, keep a session secure and, if you allow it, measure how the site is used. This policy explains the cookies and similar storage that Fonhost sets on fonhost.com and in the client area at billing.fonhost.com, and forms part of our Privacy Policy.
2. Essential cookies
These are necessary for the website and client area to work. They cannot be switched off in our preferences control, because without them you could not log in, place an order or submit a form securely. We set them on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, and we ask for consent before setting anything else.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
fonhost_sid | Keeps your session, so you stay logged in as you move between pages. | Session |
fonhost_theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, so the page renders correctly on the first paint. | 12 months |
fonhost_cookie_choice | Records your consent decision, so we do not ask again on every visit. | 12 months |
| Security and CSRF tokens | Protect forms and logins against cross-site request forgery and automated abuse. | Session |
| Routing cookies | Send your request to a healthy server and keep your session on it. | Session |
3. Optional analytics cookies
These help us see which pages are read, where visitors get stuck and which features are worth improving. They are set only if you accept optional cookies, and they are not used to build an advertising profile or to follow you across other websites. We configure analytics with your IP address truncated and without advertising features, so what we see is aggregated.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics identifier | Distinguishes one visitor from another so repeat visits are not counted twice. | Up to 13 months |
| Analytics session data | Records the pages viewed in one visit and how long it lasted. | 30 minutes |
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we embed or by a provider whose pages you are taken to, and those are governed by the third party’s own notice: payment processors and wallets set cookies on their checkout and card-verification pages for fraud prevention; helpdesk and live chat services may set a cookie to keep a conversation open and remember that you have contacted us; and embedded media or widgets may set their own cookies on the few pages where we use them.
5. Changing or withdrawing consent
- Use the Cookie preferences control in the banner or the website footer to accept or reject optional cookies at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
- Delete cookies and site data for our domains in your browser, which clears your stored preference so we ask again on your next visit.
- Block cookies for our domains in your browser. Blocking essential cookies stops you logging in and completing an order.
- Use your browser privacy controls, including a recognised opt-out preference signal, which we treat as a rejection of optional cookies.
Because browsers implement legacy Do Not Track headers differently, we do not rely on that header alone; the cookie preferences control is the reliable way to record your choice with us.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when we add or remove a cookie or change a provider. The current version is always published here with the date it takes effect, and a material change is notified by email to the address on your Account. Questions about a cookie go to support@fonhost.com, or to our data protection team using the subject line “Data protection request”; abuse and security issues go to abuse@fonhost.com.
