Four changes give most of the gain on our LiteSpeed servers:
- Turn on LiteSpeed Cache (see the Speed & Performance category) - page cache, browser cache and image optimisation in one plugin.
- Serve next-generation images - convert large PNG/JPEG uploads to WebP and keep them under about 200 KB.
- Trim plugins - every active plugin adds queries and CSS. Deactivate anything you do not use, and prefer one good plugin over three overlapping ones.
- Check PHP - cPanel → MultiPHP Manager should have the domain on PHP 8.2 for the best performance and support.
Then re-test with a tool such as PageSpeed Insights; the largest improvements usually come from images and caching.
